New work is made with a rough dark stoneware clay, layered with slips of varying translucency that react with the celadon glazes to produce surfaces of great depth and texture.
I also fire with wood, using porcelain and stoneware clays, often together to create various flashed, glassy, textured and crystalline surfaces.
