Since finishing my degree at Loughborough College of Art (1988 - 1991) I have produced work of a sculptural nature. I am inspired in my work by the landscape and by organic growth and erosion. Recent works focus on the journey from the earth to the sky, with forms rooted to the mass of the ground, lifting, twisting and reaching high. My work is made using pipe clay, which is highly textured and fires to a rich terracotta/brown. I use slips and oxides sparingly to enhance form and texture. Visitors by prior appointment only.
