I trained in ceramics at Loughborough College of Art and graduated in 1999. Shortly afterwards I set up my workshop in my home in Mansfield. I throw, assemble and manipulate my pots using stoneware clay. Integral to each stage of the making process is my personal sensitive touch on the surface of the pots – a dent in the soft clay, a tear, rip, and a finger or handprint in the glaze. The natural spontaneous qualities of the clay are what are important to me, so that each pot conveys its own spirit and character. My fingerprints alone serve as my potter’s mark.
