My studio has been based in Dudley town centre for several years. I use fine quality porcelain to produce textured and intricate wall panels. These panels are coloured with oxides and metallic lustres during a course of three firings. The main themes used are trees, leaves and flowers combined with the playful and direct qualities of naive art. I am very interested in traditional patterns, often incorporating these into borders and edges.
Porcelain fascinates me as a material as it combines fragility with great strength. To realise its true qualities it has to withstand very high temperatures. This is always a challenge.
