CPA Council

The CPA is managed by a Council consisting of nine members elected by a ballot of all Fellows and Professional members. Council members serve for three years and three members retire each year by rotation but may apply for re-election. The Council elects its own Chair and Vice-chair annually at the first meeting following the AGM.

The Council holds three meetings each year, usually in February April and November, to discuss the business of the Association and to select new members. An AGM is held in June when all members can discuss the work of the Association and its finances. Subsequently, the views of members are reflected in a strategic planning meeting, held by Council in August.

The role of all elected Council members is strictly Honorary.

The Council is also responsible for appointing the Board of Directors of its operating Companies Ceramic Review Publishing Ltd. and Craftsmen Potters trading Company Ltd and these Boards are responsible for running the Companies and are accountable to Council.

The Council may also appoint officers such as Secretary, Treasurer and Editor of CPA News to help in the running of specific aspects of the Association.
